Drainage: Dual-level drainage for efficient water management and root health

Fill the Seed Tray: Start by filling the seed tray with a quality seed-starting mix (we recommend our Coco Coir Compost Mix) for the best results. Moisten the soil lightly – it should be damp, but not saturated.

Plant Your Seeds: Using your finger, pencil, or seed dibber, create small holes for your seeds. Drop the seeds in, following the spacing instructions for each seed variety. Cover lightly with soil.

Slot the Tray into the Gravel Tray: Place your seed tray into the provided gravel tray to catch excess water and prevent messes. This is perfect for indoor gardening or if you're short on space.

Water Gently: Use a watering can with a rose attached to water your seeds carefully to avoid washing your seeds away. Be sure to empty any excess water from the gravel tray to prevent water logging.

Cover with the Propagation Lid: Place the clear propagation lid on top of your seed tray to trap moisture and warmth, creating the perfect environment for seed germination.

Position in a Sunny Spot: Place the tray in a sunny windowsill, greenhouse, or under grow lights. The clear lid allows you to monitor progress without disturbing the seeds.

Remove Propagator Lids: When your seeds start to germinate, make sure to remove the propagation lid during the day, to make sure the seedlings are exposed to a good amount of airflow. Place the propagator lids back on during the nighttime or leave them on during colder days. 

Monitor and Transplant: After 1-2 weeks, your seeds should begin to germinate. Keep the soil moist but not soaked, and thin out weaker seedlings. Once seedlings are 3-4 inches tall, carefully lift them from the tray, keeping as much of the root ball in tact as possible. It is far easier to do this if you use a spoon or fork and transplant them into pots or your garden.

End of Season Care: After the growing season, clean your tray and lid with warm, soapy water, let them dry, and store away from direct sunlight to reuse next season.

A: With proper care, our Seed Starting Propagation Set can last for many years. Just clean the trays and lids at the end of the season and store them out of direct sunlight to preserve their longevity. I have sets in my garden which have been going strong for over 10 years!
